Our Objectives

The New Milford Recreation Association seeks to provide New Milford and surrounding towns with independent recreational and community facilities dedicated to providing year-round programs for children, teenagers, adults and seniors.  Through fundraising and available grants we will construct, operate, maintain and/or improve recreational facilities, including, but not limited to, swimming pools, gymnasiums, recreation centers and parks.

Our initial activities will consist of fundraising for the construction of said recreational facilities. The executive council and board of directors will solicit contributions for this cause.  We will also engage in ongoing fundraising efforts to support ongoing projects and needs and awareness, necessary to highlight the development of recreational facilities to the community at large. 

Once the fundraising goal has been achieved, we aim to construct and operate the facility necessary to accommodate the sporting and recreational requirements of the community. 

Once constructed, our facilities will be open to all.  Our programs will focus on the well-being and healthy living of children, youth and adults in the community of New Milford and surrounding towns.  We will encourage and assist in the development of quality recreational programs and services for the diverse populations by developing programs that improve the recreational sports process.  We plan to promote and encourage sports-related programs that foster a positive attitude towards lifetime fitness as is necessary and beneficial to all aspects of human development.

Our Company

We formed the New Milford Recreation Association in February 2008, registered with the Secretary of State as an Incorporation.  We are currently awaiting approval from the IRS to operate as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  We are members of the New Milford Chamber of Commerce.  Our board of directors is comprised of volunteers from the New Milford community.  We have adopted a set of by-laws governing the company, as well as detailed Articles of Incorporation (available upon request).
